With a capacity of 3,806, the Walter A. Brown Arena Memorial Skating Pavilion has served as the home of Boston University hockey since the 1971-72 season and the women's ice hockey program since the 2005-06 campaign.
With the men's team move to Agganis Arena in January 2005, Walter Brown Arena is one of the few on-campus venues in the country dedicated solely to women's ice hockey and boasts one of the best home atmospheres in all of women's college hockey.
Through the 2019-20 season, the women's ice hockey team has compiled a 158-67-27 record at Walter Brown Arena. The Terriers set a Women's Beanpot record when over 1,700 people attended the 2020 title game between BU and Northeastern. Walter Brown has also hosted two NCAA Tournament tilts, with the Terriers advancing to the Frozen Four each time.
In addition to hosting Terrier hockey, the rink has been the site of Boston University basketball games, concerts, professional tennis and numerous other special events.
In the summer of 2010, the arena underwent a complete renovation of the floor and ice surfaces, which is part of a phased renovation plan that will bring an improved look and experience to the historic arena in the coming years.
